San Antonio MBDA Export Center

The San Antonio MBDA Export Center provides Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) with export growth and global facilitation services. Our mission is to help minority-owned enterprises succeed as exporters to countries that have free trade agreements with the U.S. in Latin America.

The San Antonio MBDA Export Center is funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) and operated by UTSA’s Institute for Economic Development (IED). The San Antonio MBDA Export Center is one of four MBDA Export Centers across the nation.

According to economic research, MBEs are twice as likely to export as non-minority firms, and are involved in wholesale trade export more than non-minority-owned firms. By facilitating and promoting the success of MBEs involved in export activities, we anticipate a positive impact in the local economy by accessing international contract and partnership opportunities, accessing capital and creating and retaining jobs domestically.

The San Antonio MBDA Export Center’s aim is to follow the Institute for Economic Development’s approach in building the economy one business at a time, with the highest level of integrity and excellence in our services.
