David Lozano is a Senior Business Development Specialist with the MBDA Business Center. David comes to us with more than 30 years of management experience, including running his own businesses N-Home Healthcare Agency, Summerset Rural Health Clinic and Empire Integrated Services. David was a MED Week winner in 2004, received the Award of Excellence from the U.S. Small Business Administration in 2005. and graduated from the 8(a) program allowing the enterprise to grow and prosper. David possesses a first-hand knowledge of the challenges MBEs face today. David graduated from St. Mary’s University with a BBA in Marketing/Accounting and also holds an M.D. from Universidad del Noreste Tampico, Mexico.

Jackie Jackson is a Business Development Specialist at the MBDA Business Center. In this capacity, she is able to parlay her extensive entrepreneurial background to work with minority entrepreneurs. Jackson has owned business turnaround management consulting companies that specialized in designing, implementing, evaluating, and utilizing re-engineering strategies. She has worked in higher education, health care, public, for profit, not-for-profit, and international consulting settings that specialized in manufacturing, public/social welfare, health care, and utilities. She attended Hampton Institute, earned at B.A. from St. Augustine’s College (Raleigh, NC) and M.A. in sociology from the University of Chicago.

 

 

Jennifer Mort is the Administrative Assistant at the MBDA Business Center. She brings 30 years of business experience to the office, having worked in the manufacturing, construction, and customer service industries, with emphasis on database management and contract negotiations.

Ms. Mort’s corporate background and deep experience enables her to bring a private sector understanding to a critical part of the business/corporate supplier diversity relationship. She is eager to help MBDA clients reach and exceed business and financial goals.

 

 

Michael Edwards is a Senior Business Development Specialist who comes to the MBDA Business Center with more than 25 years of financial experience, primarily in banking and auditing. He holds a B.A. in accounting from UTSA.

Orestes Hubbard is Director of the MBDA Business Center, overseeing a group of business specialists who help minority businesses access markets and capital. Hubbard is a former banker, Small Business Development Center director in New Mexico, and San Antonio SBDC Business Development Specialist. Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, he holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Management from Monterrey Tech and an M.B.A. from Texas A&M International University. He is certified as an Economic Development Finance Professional by the National Development Council and is a Certified Global Business Professional by NASBITE.
